The word “photography” comes from the Greek and means “to draw with light”. It is the light that is reflected from objects that allows us to see the subjects that we capture on light-sensitive material, for example the image censors in digital cameras or film in an analog camera.

The reflected light from an object can also in turn be reflected from various surfaces such as mirrors, water and metal surfaces. We thus get reflections of the motifs, which in themselves are reflections. It is possible to set up two mirrors that reflect an object back an forth in an infinite number of versions.

Using reflections is an excellent tool for visual artists to create interesting images. It’s a great mood maker. The motifs can be refined and made abstract.
